She tipped the scales at 358
She enjoyed every bite of food she ate
Her weight didn't matter
Only what was on her plate

Sad to say
She died before her time
For she lived to eat
Never ate to live

A sad story but true
And even stranger fact is this
When her body
Was being carried to the cemetery
By hearst
The funeral procession
Was brought to a halt
When a big fat hog
Moseyed
Across the road
As mourners
Sat and gawked

This was not written to offend anyone, just saw the humor in the situation.

Very sad story, especially since it is true. It is also sad and unfortunate that most people do not realize that most obese people have a disorder of their metabolism that makes it difficult for their bodies to burn calories and fat in the efficient manner as happens in so called 'normal' people. Most obese people actually eat less than 'normal' people. I feel that they have been the brunt of 'jokes' for far too long.

I'd have to agree with Denise on this one...obese people have been the brunt of jokes for too long. I think we need to be more understanding of them.

As a fat man I love the poem. I love the humour within it especially. But hey, aren't all us fatties jolly

If this is a true story, I think that Hog owes everyone an apology...LOL

Nothing should get in the way of a funeral procession no matter what size be it animal, person, place, or thing.
As size should not be a reflection of jugement in everyday life.

Like I said this was not meant to offend, not all people who are overweight have a metabolism disorder, some of us are like my self we over indulge and do not get enough exercise. I never make fun of anyone, but I do have a sense of humor, that by which I am able to laugh at myself. My poem was written about a person who was close to me and would have enjoyed the ironic humor of the situation.
