Precious Key

I knock
door opens slightly
I peek in slowly
door slams in my face.

Stand outside
contemplate knocking again
lights go out
silence.

Walk away
confused
is there hope
or only sadness?

Dark shadows
appear saying nothing
breathing emptiness
crushing soul.

Together forever
what's it mean
when precious key
breaks in half?

Ah, this is so sad, Gloria. Very well written.

Dear L.D.,

I sure hope you manage to mend that key or are given a new one...don't give up on that...

Thanks for responding to my LOL poem...

Love and hugs,
Lizzie

Gloria, you just had the wrong door; that's all.

Such a sorrowful piece, and so well written, I feel your pain.  Any kind of rejection truly is the rejection of the soul.  I hope that one day you are handed the right key to the right heart, and only then will all doors open for you!    This is by far my favourite piece of yours.

Take care,

Denise: Thank you for reading, sad yes, but I'll get over it.

Lizzie: Thank you, I'm giving a nice cold shoulder right now...LOL

Jack: thanks for reading and responding. It's not that easy, and I am very forgiving.

Gene: Thanks for reading and responding, if it's the wrong door, then it's been for 20 years...LOL

Melissa: Thank you, sometimes people just don't think, I'm sure I was half at fault.

Gloria,
