Sacred Serenity

Sweet moonlight, kissing cool waters,
As the lake lazily twiddles its thumbs.
Starry skies match starry eyes;
I am dreamily delighted by serenity surrounding me.
Little creatures skitter cautiously
Through overgrown undergrowth behind me.
A candy coated breeze
Giggles amongst the daisies in the grass,
And little, naughty dandelions,
Blow fluffy seeds into my eyes.
This is my sacred place, and my sacred time.
A vision in my mind.

Grr... I am feeling unusually cold upon reading this poem. So lonely, so desolate, eh, Lynne. your style again - no second character.

Whereas James feels cold and desolate, I come away feeling warm and wearing a smile.  Even if it's only a place in thought, it sounds delightful.  I especially like:
"giggles amongst the daisies in the grass."

I wish I could find this place...it's a place I've been looking for for a long time.  It sounds great.  My favorite line was how the lake twiddles its thumbs...

Yu Lan beautifully written, lovely feelings.

why must we pray
screaming? why must not death be redefined? we shut our eyes we stretch out our arms and whirl on a pane of glass-patti smith

YuLan~
The alliteration in this piece
is captivating.

Wonderfully cascading with serenity.
