Communication
Is
This

A distant drum beat
Pulsing through the forest
Drawing a response from the natives’ heart
A bee arriving
On the warm summer breeze
To accept the gift
Of sweet pollen
From the musk of the scented Orchid
The squeal of the Dolphin
As they race past the billowing ship
Flocks of excited birds
In the autumn trees
Preparing for their flight
To the sun and life

You to me
My ears devour your words
Our conversations meet in mid space
Words caress each other
Before falling giggling
To the floor
Your glance melts my mask
Sends pin beams to
The very core of my soul
I am held suspended
In wracks of pure delight
Awaiting your next
Creation

This
Is
Communication

Jon Mewett

This compleats a trilogy of this type of thing.
If you would like to read the other two I've taken the liberty of posting them below. Thanks  J

Possession
Is
This

The foaming sea caressing
And filling the wind hewn cavern
Unasked and without mercy
The ashy volcanic froth pursuing
And engulfing every living thing
Before searing and burning it into submission
The snakes’ jaws bearing upon its prey
Squeezing lifeless the unknown
A boulder crushing an ant
In an instant of nothingness

My love for you
Consuming my soul
Held between every beat of my heart
Being expelled from my lungs
With every waking and sleeping breath
My mind pulsating with thoughts
Of your every move
Bursting through my fingertips
When I touch your skin
The heat of your smile
The scent of you desire
Is with me
Every moment
I exist

This
Is
Possession

Isolation
Is
This

A small crab
Washed up on a high rock
The midday sun raining down upon his back

An earthworm
The steel hook already a part of him
Dangling in his watery grave
Waiting for a fish

A guiltless man
The noose tight around his neck
The trap door creaking beneath his feet

A newborn baby
Fighting for his first breath
In the arms of his starving mother

Me without you

I have no air
I have no blood
I have no voice
I have no mind
I have no touch
I have no reason
I have no feeling
I have no will
My body has no soul

This
Is
Isolation

Thanx Everybody Jon

Jon,
Excellent trilogy on that mysterious subject that Women think they created and most men don't have a clue about! Wonderful imagery and flow throughout! WELL DONE!
(I don't remember any of this from Communication 101 class) LOL Dennis :^)

Great Triology....I'm sure I read the isolation one before but that sure doesn't detract from the pleasure of reading all three now. Great job, Jon!

Love and hugs,
Lizzie

If you had been reading these out loud, I would have insisted on giving a standing ovation.  I applaud these excellent pieces of your work.  WOW!!!

MAY THE ROAD RISE TO MEET YOU,
MAY THE WIND BE ALWAYS AT YOUR BACK
MAY THE SUN SHINE UPON YOUR FACE
THE RAINS FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS
AND, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN,
MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND
