A candle burns
At both ends
One end bright
The other dim

My soul is split
In two ends
One 'me'
The other 'for show'

'Me' is a pessimist
Scared to step into the world
While 'for show'
Is boisterous & loud

'For show' is an optimist
Cups always full
But 'me' is shy
Alone & dying

Both are real
One is true
Life is decieving,
Who are you?

so true......i too hide behind a mask,as do any i know. if you're really able to be yourself at all times then you are certainly a priveledged person.....for me,it is a struggle!!

Yeah, that's me...sometimes myself and sometimes not. That's life I guess. Really nice poem, I like it a whole lot cuz I can relate to it.
