What I want most in this world is for people to say I exude goodness.

I feel like I have so much good in me that it overflows at times.

However...it is rare, maybe never, that someone has told me that my goodness is contagious.

I want people to look at me and instantly see my happiness for what it truly is.

Most times I feel that my happiness and goodness are translated into stupidity and naivete.

In all actuality, I see all the bad in the world.  If not for the bad, I wouldn't appreciate the good so much.

It turns out, but is so difficult to convince, that those who judge me as stupid or naive are actually themselves stupid and naive.  For they assume...they presume...that my happiness simply means I am blind to evil.

But what I find through time is that I am certainly not blind to evil and it most certainly is in me.  It is something that scares me...shame.

My evil shames me.  On a daily basis, my love for the things in this world overcomes my evil.  Thank God.  The majority of my actions are with good intentions.

So why is it no one sees this?  Or maybe the question is why is it that no one tells me this?  No one tells me I'm good.  This is what I live for.  I strive to infect others with my happiness...my silliness.  There are too many sad things in the world.  I would like to share myself.  It seems that people don't realize my full potential.  My happiness is my beauty.  My happiness is what I live for.

I wish I could spend some time around you...I'll bet your goodness and happiness would be contagious for me! Nice piece of work here.

Love and hugs,
Lizzie

You must be somebody good to point out that without accepting bad things, you can't enjoy the good as much.  Thankyou for reminding the rest of us in such a sweet way.  Very good work.

MAY THE ROAD RISE TO MEET YOU,
MAY THE WIND BE ALWAYS AT YOUR BACK
MAY THE SUN SHINE UPON YOUR FACE
THE RAINS FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS
AND, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN,
MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND

Let me tell you most honestly, I love your poem, I almost thought I was reading about me except that I am nieve and stupid, and I don't mean that in any sorry for me way, I am just nieve to the level of stupidity. I choose to ignore the bad in light of the good, one day it may come to haunt me, but so be it. I love your line:
"I strive to infect others with my happiness..."

What a talent to possess and use to yours and everyone elses advantage.

You seem good to me. I am happy you are happy and if that knowledge makes you happy, I am happier still....

May your roof never fall in and those beneath it never fall out.

Great poem, It's nice to know there are people out there whose soul and heart are the same as mine.

May the light of day always shine during the darkest of nights.

I wouldn't continue to waste precious time concerned with the perceptions of others. That won't produce anything good in your life (other than this poem, of course!)

LD - You are not naive or stupid. That's enough of that talk!

Mrobi, Don't depend on the praise of others for your happiness, please yourself that you are the person you feel you must be! Goodness unacknowledged is not Goodness diminished! Stand firm in your convictions and Peace will be your reward! Another thoughtful work! Thanks for sharing! Dennis :^)

Thanks for all the comments.  I know I shouldn't mind other people's opinions.  I don't necessarily, but sometimes I do think about it.
