"Precious Memory" We knew each other slightly, for a long time we ignored, A world of heartfelt feeling, that begged to be explored. Then one night we opened up, and shared a whole lot more, And slowly this relationship, became more than bargained for. First you were my lover, than became my friend, Now were caught in something that's coming to an end. Having someone hold me, and tell me it's okay, Was the precious gift you gave to me, as I made it through each day. I hope that I've provided you with friendship and with love, So when you dream of us, it's a smile you think of. I've loved you since that very night, you looked into my soul, Though when you said, "I love you," who knew it'd take it's toll? Now I sit and wonder, if fate brought you to me, How is it fair that I'm supposed to be strong, and set you free? I've had no other relationship, like the one I've shared with you, Your friendship and your honesty have really pulled me through. No matter what's in store for us, I know we'll always share, A special type of closeness, from things that brought us there. I'll never say goodbye to you because that only means an end, And that is just impossible to say to you, my friend. We've shared each others laughter, we've shared each others tears, The comfort that I found in you will warm me through the years. In some way were connected, it seems weve always been, Too bad we didn't find each other, before the messes we got in. You trusted me with hopes and dreams, aspirations we did share, So now I cannot turn and pretend that I don't care. I'll never really leave you, because we'll always be, No more than just a thought away, a precious memory. ~JC 4/00~ |

Aye.. Wonderful poem... *wipes away a tear* It goes along well with what I feel for the person "Goodbye" was written towards..
