Questions and Answers Why am I so selfish? Why am I so blind? Why am I always searching for what I cannot find? Why can't I be happy? Why do I feel this need, to keep on wanting more and more? Is it just plain greed? I know that you love me, You give your heart and soul, So why, oh why do I need your body to make me whole? Why can't I just be grateful that you love me as you do? Why can't I accept my role the way you want me to? It's because I need to touch you, To hold you when you cry, To kiss the salty tears away, When things have gone awry. To encourage when you're weary, To cheer you when you're sad, Kiss your eyes when they are bleary, Soothe your spirits when you're mad. I want so much to see your face in the morning as you wake, Your tumbling tresses tousled on our pillow at daybreak. So many things I want to see, So much I need to share, I know these things will never be, I am here and you are there. We will meet for now in Our World, Will it ever be the same? Will it ease my longings? Set more of them aflame? I wish I had the answers, For now I can but try to be happy with what's on offer, And love you 'til I die. This is beautiful and sad Cat. Yes, you can love this person until you die but, don't let it stop you from living. We have the incredible ability to love repeatedly, and you will love again, although not in the same way. Lizzie, L.D.& Jon...Thank you. I really have never thought of myself as a poet, much less talented. I think I may dry up at any time soon. But, thank you really, it's appreciated. |
