Courage

He faced the deepest dark unknown
And walked the footsteps all alone
With loved ones there in his surround
He spread his courage all around

And then with pride upon his face
He suffered in a far off place
So many days in pain and fear
Without his family standing near

Still dreaded footsteps now to plod
He wakes each day and prays to God
And then persues the day with grace
And warming smile upon his face

And no one knows the weary plight
The pain he suffers in the night
For still in modesty he lives
And silently to others gives

He demonsrtates to all around
The peace of spirit he has found
And courage only found within
And that’s why I admire him

My husband

This is beautiful Elizabeth! Your husband is indeed an admirable man. And a fortunate one to have such a loving woman to share his life with. I applaud you both!

Your comments are so very warming. Thank you all so very much for reading and responding. My husband's surgery to remove a lung and enormous tumor will be on May 5th. We are so elated at his progress from the treatments and appreciate so much the support from Passions friends.
You are all wonderful

This certainly is a wonderful poem - Hope you don't mind my being presumptuous here, Elizabeth... For those of you who missed the first glimpse we had of this wonderful guy...

Elizabeth, I thank you for touching us with your beautiful poetry, you are talented way beyond words that would spring into my mind right now, but know they are wonderful words for a wonderful lady.

Elizabeth this was excellent! Brought tears to my eyes and touched my soul   Hope that your husbands surgery goes ok my prayers are with you

 Mystical being
which makes ink flow
Surround me in
your incandescent glow
Fill my brain with
