Favourite Things
revisited

Blue sunny skies, the weather when dry,
The smell of bacon as it's starting to fry,
The sound of my childrens' very first cry,
These are my favourite things.

Give me coffee, but only with cream,
Eight hours sleep without any dream,
A five-nil win for my football team,
These are my favourite things.

The breeze as it rustles a tree's leafy bough,
The sunshine in spring warming my brow,
A moment in time, quite possibly now,
These are my favourite things.

My lovers' smile as I come through the door,
My lovers' clothes as they fall to the floor,
Holding her close before going for more,
These are my favourite things.

Waves as they crash on a cold winter beach,
People I love who are just out of reach,
The taste and the smell and the feel of a peach,
These are my favourite things.

The faith of my dog, the wag of his tail,
The elation I feel when receiving your mail,
The feel of the hammer as it buries a nail,
These are my favourite things.

There are  many I love, but then they don't rhyme,
People and things, but not enough time,
Most of them sweet and very sublime,
These are my favourite things.

May your roof never fall in and those beneath it never fall out.

Irish proverb.

Wonderful Poem.  So peaceful and warm.

I really enjoyed reading.

The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, not the kindly smile, not the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship."

--Ralph Waldo Emerson

John,
Sounds like most of your fav. things are really the simple things we take for granted.  I like the simple things in life very much too!

John,

The picture you give us here is like a wonderful movie you don't ever want to end.
