The Revealing

Heaven's starlight
wafting downwards
on gossamer winds
Bathes her upturned face
in a silver glow

What wonderful dreams
play across her mind?

Her warm, expressive eyes
shine from within
Radiating such joy
and peace of spirit
I ache to stand beside her

O this woman!
Her ghostly white gown
flowing around her body
as if it were part of her
How can such beauty
exist on this earthly plane?

As if hearing my thoughts
she turns to me
I am held fast
entranced by her magnificence
as emerald eyes
peer deeply into my soul

My body tingles
warmth enveloping my heart
as she explores
seeking all that I am

I am naked before her gaze
as my every kept secret
is revealed to her
Both shame and pride
shown to her in a single moment

And yet I am unafraid
for she longs to know me
But I question
Who am I -
What am I
when compared to this vision?

Again, as if in answer
she smiles gently
and my questions dissolve
in the wave of pure love
that sweeps over me

I am what I am
She knows me
and she does not turn away
My cheeks glisten
with warm, salty tears
of exquisite pain

I have never known
a love as deep, as profound
as the love I feel for this woman
This vision in the night

So I go to join her
and I will stand by her side
Living in the moment
as she takes my hand
and leads me into her world

That is beautiful^. Really profound i think =]
As you questioned yourself that way,
i too will question you today.
Who is she? What is she?
From whence does she come??¿

She comes my way sometimes.

Great writing.

Jonas,

What a beautiful spirit she is and one I'm sure will keep you in her care.  Very lovely.

Thank you for the replies. This poem is about becoming transparent under the gaze of another.

"I stand naked before her gaze" means that the character is stripped of all pretenses and all the images we try to project...she sees right through him.

Who she is, and what she is really doesn't matter as it could be anyone for any of us.

I think we all have had that one moment when another has seen past all the masks that we wear, and found the real person inside.

When someone has the heart to truly see you there is very little you can hide.  Gary, this is absolutely beautiful.

I love this. So descriptive yet haunting.
