If you could experience love for just one day

Would you take the chance or throw it away?

Knowing when the day was over your heart'd be on the ground

Or whould you cherish the memory of a love so profound?

Is that one moment worth all that it would cost

Or would you live in misery at all that you had lost?

Do you search and search but never really find

Have you given up on love 'cause it's just too unkind?

Now, what if I told you it's always been there right beneath you eyes

And the heart that cannot see is the heart that always trys?

Never happy with what is there, always  wanting more

That we don't see the love, we lock it out the door

Do you see what I'm saying

Is my meaning not yet clear

Why is it so easy to listen

Yet so hard to hear?

Love is always  there for us be it by lover or friend

An undefinable emotion it knows no beginning or end

Just because it's not seen doesn't mean it's not there

And if you are ever in doubt just tell someone you care!!

I really really liked this.

So many people spend all their time looking for someone to love instead of enjoying what they have.

It's completely true when people say that love is found in the most unusual places. If more people stopped living to find love, and just started living, love would find it's way to them.

You made a great point with this poem!

A lovely poem. You convinced me that I should take it, even if just for a day. The turn away from love could mean a lifetime's regret. Thank you.

When Love beckons you follow him
But as his wings may enfold you
So may he crucify you.

Well written

Starr this is so good and, true.  Sometimes we're so busy seeking that we miss what stands before us.  Love comes in many varieties but all are equally important, if we only just open our heart.< !signature-->

You have to take that which is laid before you, even if only for a moment, that's only true of love however, why? because love is to strong to resist, I like this.

This is why there are so many broken hearts among teen agers, right??????

Love for a day, what a fivolous thought
The one that you want may be in the wings
and what will he think of a frivolous fling
To have a true love takes friendship and work
So just look around, a very wise thought.
Good poem Starr ...good advice.

Just_another_fe- I think I would have to chose to have known it for a day too, rather than never knowing it at all

Another Heather- Thanks when I started writing this I almost threw it away  seemed I was writing about something so simple yet inexplainable that it wouldn't be understood

John the Cat- Thanks glad you liked the poem

John Mewett-thanks for replying ...

This is so beautiful short but packing a big message !!!

childomine-thanks thise little things aroud us that we take for granted are usually the most important things we have, yet we do not realize it until they're gone

Denise- Thanks

William- Thanks LOL that icon is kinda cute, I kind of look at love as the emotion of all emotions you can't know any emotion without knowing love, after all what good would hate be with out something to comapare it to...

Twins- thanks

Wonderous - what does one do when there are too many lives involved?
This is something I ask my self every day  no doubt...truly stuck wondering if that moment however long would be worth all it  would cost to myself and to the lifes of others around me who the decision would affect ... questions only bring about more questions and  answers seem non existent still I believe we should follow our hearts but then again I'm a hopeless dreamer

Starr,

What a wonderful message this piece conveys.  It sure gave me something to think about.
