Meeting.

Here you are,
And here I am,
Just we two,
Homme et Femme.

Here to talk,
Friends to be,
I wonder what
will become of we?

Firm friends forever
like the bears,
Sharing troubles,
Sharing cares?

Or shall we be
what we fear,
And get too close,
Get too near?

To fall in love,
Pledge not to part,
But end up breaking
each other's heart?

Let's be careful,
Play things cool,
Let's not break,
That golden rule.

Thank you everyone for your kind words
I hadn't really thought about there being a warning, probably because it was written too late
I think I will post some more, how could I not after such a warm welcome? I think I shall feel at home here, thank you all

John welcome to the pub.  This is an excellent poem.  Once bitten, twice shy.  It may be too late to be careful in one relationship but not for a future relationship.
