Gift of the Seagull

A lonely seagull flies the winds
Majestic..... gliding..... motionless wings
A single screech  sounds from the sky
Come fly with me..... come here and fly.........

My spritit floats to be a part
I feel the beating of his heart
My soul, one with this bird of seas
Now knows what it means to fly free.....

I feel the winds caress my soul
I  soar the winds, without a goal
My being trembles of delight
I know I received a gift this night

The seagulls gift of soaring the sky
The feeling of what it means to fly

Munda,

This is awesome.  I live on the coast and there are an abundance of Seagulls here.  They are majestic and beautiful creatures.

Munda - I have often wished I could fly like a bird - even if just for a moment - to soar through the sky.  Birds are beautiful, magnificiant creatures.  You did a great job on this.

To soar like an Eagle
To sing like a lark
That's what I'd like as I sit in the park
To drift and float freely
In the blue sky's above
That's what it's like
When your world's full of love.

You are amazing, Munda! This is beautiful! You write an Epic and you still have inspiration left over to write a wonderful poem! Can you send your muse my way for a little bit?!!

This poem created the sensation of flying for me..I too felt swept and carried by the wind

and I loved the line

I feel the winds caress my soul

Great stuff!

O, how I yearn to be; O, dream, let me fly,
To home my sights in, a mile high.

I received a gift wth this poem. I needed some uplifting today. I feel what it means to fly again.

Beautiful poem, Munda.

beautiful
brings back memorirs of "jonathan livingston seagull"
just wondering if that was the inspiration for the poem
if it itsn't you should read it.
its like the poem and book were meant for each other.

Munda great job, and always my dream first poem I ever wrote was about flying ...

I want be a bird so free
then I would fly
above the sky
wandering all alone
discovering places unknown
thats all I want to be
a bird so wild and free

once again very well done !!!

I got carried away with this one Munda....Very nice
With wings to soar above the crowd.
To sweep and dip and roll and sigh .
Why is it that we cannot fly.

Munda,
As everyone else, I LOVED this.  I too can't understand why so many dislike seagulls.  They are really beautiful birds, and this a beautiful poem.
