C rystalline skies and heaven's crest
R eaching o'er this place and all the rest,
Y earning to be bright, yet in comes the night...

N owhere else to run or hide,
O r shelter for a moment's reside,
T rying to reach for that sky so bright...

F ree to roam around in the dark,
O utside, and yet it seems so stark
R eason that I seem to fight...

I t's the battle I must win before I can rest!

W eather's wintry gale increasing,
I n the force that seems unceasing
L ife goes by, the time I'm leasing
L imping towards that hopeful light...

R eassuring forces be
E ver present, close to me
T here at every moment still
U sing that undying will
R eleased to me, oh what a sight--
N ew way out of this terrible plight!

Things seem to be looking up for me right now, but it's going to take a massive amount of effort and elbow-and-wing grease to turn this around...and I don't think I'm going to have too much free time until this summer, and that's going to be a while from now... I know it sounds like I'm going to be gone for a while, but that just means I won't be able to stop by as often. I'll still check in and see what's going on, and come summer I'll be back on my feet and ready for more!

Hope to see you all very soon--and KEEP THAT DOOR OPEN,

Little Spyro T. Dragon

It's good to hear from you even if it's just to say hi.  Great poem, BTW.

We'll keep the door open, but you may have to duck your head by the time you come back. Little dragons grow fast.

The door is open for you little dragon.  No mere door could keep you out!     I too like the way you did this poem.  I must say I came away from it with mixed emotions.  Take care little dragon.  Your friends here at the pub will await your return.< !signature-->

Glad to see you Little Spyro.  I loved the way you presented this poem.  Summer may seem like a long time away, but the time will go by fast and we'll all be here waiting for you, without fail.

Hi Sam

So glad I got to respond to your work. I too have taken time away from here...and will be continuing to do so for a while now it seems. But I will be stopping in from time to time as well, commenting and posting new work of mine when I get a chance. Just wanted to let you know I really admire you and your work. And this kind of creative poem is one of the reasons why. Take care my friend.

Spyrobaby...
this poem is excellent, and shows so much creativity and talent. I want to take a min to say something to you--I hope you dont mind-- you should know and accept how truly talented and gifted you are. There are are  adult poets who cant write with the vision your young and unbiased curious mind does. I know you are feeling a lot of stress and pressure these days, its a hard age and school and grades and all that goes with being young adds to the pressure, just try to remember that it all will work itself out, remember the people in your corner... trust that they truly want whats best for you-and most of all enjoy your gifts and talents-dont feel burdened by it...
much healing can come from our writing.
I hope you dont mind the "mommy" lecture...but you have touched mine and many others hearts in here, as did your dads amazing poem to you...I just wanted to let you know how talented you are...use it for strenght and confidence...everything else will come in time...
Take care sweets, post when you can and dont worry. We will still be here.
your friend and poetic admirer, janet marie

Do you live by the book, do you play by the rules
Do you care what is thought by others about you
If this day is all that is promised to you
Do you live for the present, the future the past...

How can I possibly follow with anything that means more than what Janet Marie has said?  I can't but I just want to say that of course the door will always be open and whenever you do get the cance to come in be sure to post more of your poetry. okay?
