In my heart there dwells a light
One that has been hidden from my sight
Hidden by hate and devoid of love
Waiting for that angel, sent from above

She came to me as if out of a dream
Pierced through the darkness with her love's beam
Showed me the things I'd lost for so long
Gave me back my voice, to sing with her our song

The alarm shrieked its hollow, lonely wail
Waking me from my sleep, lonely and pale
When I looked around, things were still the same
But I swear in the distance, I heard her call my name.

Sven....hauntingly beautiful poem.  You say a lot in a little space.

Everyone else has pretty well summed it up.  This is very, very good.  The last line leaves me with the impression that, although the dreamer believes it to be, maybe this wasn't a dream afterall.

Sven,

What a wonderful dream, but you know, dreams do come true.  Hope this one does for you.  This is beautiful.

Dreams are weird, sometimes you wake up and can't remember if it was true or not!
Good poem

Great Poem Sven,

I really enjoyed reading it.

The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, not the kindly smile, not the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship."

--Ralph Waldo Emerson
