Twenty-two years ago
at my place of employ,
I found a true treasure
with a priceless amount of joy.

A true and special friend
who I love ever so much.
Words could never express
how my heart, she does touch.

She's carried me through
many trying times through the years.
A great comfort to me,
just knowing she was near.

She listens and advises
and weeps when I'm pained.
Never judgemental or condenscending,
never selfish or disdained.

She laughs and jokes,
she brightens a dark place.
She's filled with love and caring,
her friendship I embrace.

A wonderful support
she's always been to me.
More than a friend,
she's my "sister", Kim Marie.

Sheila,
Ah ha, your sister...
What a beautiful tribute to your sister.  It's nice to see siblings get along so well. I work with my brother. We fight tooth and nail, but I still love him--I just can't stand his guts sometimes.

Gene,

Thanks much for your comment on this poem.  Childomine is not my blood sister, is my best friend and sister-in-law.  But our bond is that of true blood sisters, and as an only child, I couldn't imagine loving a sister more.

Sheila,

That's even nicer! Friends come and go, so it's really special to find one who's that close. Especially, if she's your sister in-law.

BEAUTIFUL SAS......YOU BOTH MADE ME CRY

this is so sweet and loving and shows your kind and gentle heart...both of you are such  gifted poets, i know you inspire each other...
WAY COOL
take care, jm

Now for me some words come easy
But I know that they don't mean that much
Compared with the things that are said when lovers touch
You never knew what I loved in you
I don't know what you loved in me
Maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be

You made my Heart flutter, from this poem.It
filled my Heart with soul.

It is so beautiful if you can acuire such a sweet and loving relationship, whether it be a relative,or a friend.

This kind of relationship is rare 'indeed',do the best you can to keep it this "Special".

May the angels watch over you!

Thank you all for your kind responses to this poem.

Denise-yes, true friends are very rare and should be cherished.

Janet Marie-she is a special inspiration to me, and I'm sure always will be. But, everyone here at the pub also is an inspiration to me too.

Brenda-thank you.  I feel an angel does hang out around here and bless.

Wow, what a treasure you found...sure beats any I've ever found on stranded desert islands in the middle of nowhere!   Beautiful poem, Sheila!
