He stalks the streets in daylight, he stalks the streets in rain. He stalks the streets and patiently waits to begin his little game. He's already chosen his victim just waiting for the chance to strike. He anticipates submission, does not believe there will be a fight. They'll all be mine sooner or later, he thinks but does not say. Yes, each and every one of them shall let me have my way. I do not fear him, he shall never win me, for although he'll win my body my soul shall then be free. The game has only just begun when he puts his mark on me, for sitting in my corner is a team he refuses to see. I know that God is with me. He will not let me slide. I shall not be alone when I take the reapers ride. He stalks the streets in nighttime, he stalks the streets in snow, he looks in every window but himself he does not show. He's quiet as a desert, he makes no noise when he walks. he leaves no footprints behind him when he, the reaper, stalks. Do not fear the giver of death do not lose control, for death it cannot hurt you if it's God who has your soul.   [This message has been edited by childomine (edited 02-29-2000).] |

this gave me chills kinda but in a good way, if there is such a thing. really liked the flow of the poem and how you kept the reader in suspence..good job, and i couldn't agree with the last line more...don't fear death for God has your soul...nice touch amy  ~Live today as though it were your last but prepare for tomorrow as though it were here~ |
