I took a little ride on the Memory Express,
In a wispy dream-like state, much like dejavu
And according to my Journeys-boy,was it the Best!
Oh the many Memory lanes,it chugged along and
  Through!

It took me to some places
I vaguely do recall
And showed me some faces
I viewed when I was small!

And the Faces brought back emotions
I laughed and also cried,
How sweet those joyous moments
Which some how stopped and died.

The Memory Express I took
I knew not where it'd go,
But it gave me quite a ride
And really put on a show!

It made me long for the distant past
When things weren't so complex,
Before the Almighty Dollar reigned
And not all thing revolved around sex.

The trouble with the Memory Express
Is that only "Round Trips" are giv'n,
And so you can't stay there very long
'Til you must return to Modern Livin'.

But when I can, I'll go back again
Travelling the trailway in my mind,
For there are so many Precious things
Somehow I have left behind!

It's 3am I must be lonely,
When she says baby,
Well I can't help but be scared of it all sometimes,
Says the rains gonna wash away I believe it.

I love you baby... always.*

I took a ride on my own "Memory Express" after I read this.  We do hold so many wonderful memories within us, don't we?  This is terrific.  Hope you post more here.

If only I could write something like this...incredible piece of work, David!   You should try submitting this one to a contest, hey it might win!

Hope to see more stuff of this caliber, and I'm glad you've come to the Pub!
