MY NIGHT OUT Last night I went out, to a theater you know, To relax and catch, an onstage show. On the stage the performers did boldly prance, 'Cause the name of the show was, "Lord of the Dance". There was tappin' and snappin' and jumping and more, And pyro displays, burst forth from the floor. Now the Lord of the Dance had his title in peril, Made courageous escapes both fearless, and narrow. And the Damsel he loved, so tender and sweet, Was also no slacker, and swift on her feet. She avoided each danger, she succeeded each test, My heart raced, my toes tapped, I, needed a rest! The Climax arrived, our Heroes triumphant at last, And the faces of the Villains, were all downcast. I cheered and applauded, giving a standing Ovation, Then hurried home to treat my sleep Deprivation. Poetry is the expression of thoughts which awake the higher and nobler emotions, or their opposites, with words arranged to some accepted convention.........or maybe not! Dennis :^) |
