The following is a poem I wrote about an amazing weekend I had at a music festival last year. It`s called The Winnipeg Folk Festival and it`s one of those places where everyone`s judgements and cruelties are left at home and we`re all there for a good time and that creates the most amazing atmosphere. Read on for my version of the Folk Fest experience.

Once we arrived
And picked out our site,
I knew from that instant
The moment was right.

Guitars in hand,
We surveyed the crowd;
The music was heard
For miles around.

We sat on the grass,
We gazed at the stars,
We walked through the mud,
We slept in our cars. (just once)

The sun was hot
And so was the beer,
But that didn`t matter
Cause we were all here.

Through the still of the night
The drums were pounded,
The rain came down,
The voices resounded.

Sunday night
We were all together
It felt like
We had danced forever

As we headed home,
Our feet were sore,
Our skin was burnt
Still we wanted more.

Although no one spoke,
In the air it was clear,
That we all couldn`t wait
`Til this time next year.

Those days full of sunshine,
Sprinkled with laughter;
Will stay in my dreams
Forever after.

"The world is never the same
once a good poem
has been added to it."
-Dylan Thomas

Heather this is perfect...wonderful recollection of a special day...
sounds to me like you found a magical place..."where everyones judgements and cruelites are left at home"...
tell me how to get to there...from here
(smile) take care, janet marie

 ...every moment of every day...
your still with me in every way.
every poem and song...
every rhyme and verse...
your still here...like a beautiful curse.

Heather,

How vividly you described your experience at the music fest.  Makes me feel like I was there too.  Enjoyed your poem and look forward to more from you.
