Eagles squeak, like rusty clothesline From times of long ago. They pearch atop a tall spruce tree, The branches bending low. They wait, I think, with eagle-eyes For breakfast to appear. The field mice roaming down below Unknowing, have no fear. Canadian Geese announce their approach. Their synchronized dance forms a V. They honk their hello and goodbye And I KNOW they are honking to me. The sky, pale blue, backdrops the trees. The sun is shinning bright. The trees look dark against the sky, Pronouncing magnificent height! From the spruce the eagles soar, Screaming their goodbyes. Acres of grass as green as crayon, Beneath as the huge birds rise. Black of body,white of head, A Wing-span, beyond measure. The air vibrates as they fly by. I get goosebumps of pleasure. How blessed I feel! How blessed I AM! What a breathtaking, scenic view. A morning treasure of nature alive With sights and sounds that are new. Thank you, God, for letting me see The treasures that are REAL! Beautiful, panoramic treasue. The kind that no-one can steal. If the eagles die and trees get cut, If we tear this world apart, Thank you God for the memories I'll keep within my heart. |

Well, I missed this one too, but I think that was because I was off enjoying some time at the beach with those really nice ladi--OOPS! Forget I said that!!
