Hello, everyone! I'm back, after several days' absence. Was travelling on business, and it's hard to get Net access from my laptop. (I'll have a Pina Colada, thanks.) Looks like everyone is doing well. Some of the stuff here is heartbreakingly good. (You know who you are.) Some of you may remember "The Challenge", about a person who was unjustly accused, stood up to his accusers, and won the day. The story is not yet over: The clash is behind him. But will it remind him Of the struggle he still has to face? He's weathered the storm, But he has to PERFORM In order to maintain his place. But it slips from his mind, The work he's assigned, Other things tend to get in the way, And he sees, once again, It's a quarter past ten And he's wasted another whole day. There's another, who shares All his joys and his cares, Though it's been just a couple of weeks, Every day, on the phone, He's no longer alone And I smile at how sweetly he speaks. But he'll LOSE this big chance! Not one more lunch or dance! Unless...he can turn things around. I just hope she'll inspire His ambition to catch fire, His performance to get off the ground. When his ranking is strong, He's up where he belongs, Then I'll feel that my task has been done..... I am intentionally withholding the last verse, as it may come as quite a surprise to certain people here.
