Year of the Gold Dragon

In all the Chinese zodiac
The sign of greatest worth
It is the Golden Dragon
Of gold, wood, fire and earth

The dragon rears its golden head
Once every sixty years
And brings prosperity and peace
And joyful happy tears

But this year's the millennium
As Chinese people know
Gold Dragon only appeared this way
Three thousand years ago

So here's to Golden Dragon
And peace upon the earth
And to all my Chinese friends I wish
Those things of greatest worth

Happy Millennium! Happy New Year!
Golden Dragon's here!
May peace and happiness be yours
Throughout the coming year

Elizabeth Santos

Hi Liz,

Glad to see you drop in to the Pub from time-to-time.

That's a very nice tribute to our Chinese and Dragon freinds. Dito for me

Hi Elizabeth

This is the first time I've been here and what do I find?  My three friends, you and Denise and Munda !! all snug before a nice log fire ..lol .. seriously though I didn't know that you Americans even knew what a "pub" was ..

Oh and the poem .. well how could I resist a poem with Dragons in it, and also your usual uplifting standard ..

Thank you ..

Philip

Spectacular piece of work here Liz!
I only wish my scales were gold so I'd have the honor of being the subject of this poem...
