I looked to the horizon
and felt my spirit release,
in search of a path
that lead to inner peace.

I gazed out ahead,
wondering which way to go.
I noticed a road
that enticed me to follow.

Yonder, down that road,
I saw the green of the trees.
the light of the sun,
and felt the warmth of the breeze.

A feeling of hope
ran through my heart,
as the torment subsided
so a new life could start.

At the end of this road
was a rainbow so bright.
The colors astounded me
as I continued my plight.

I followed it down
from beginning to end,
climbing up to the top
and over it's bend.

Much to my amazement,
there laid what's always been told:
a shiny, gleaming
pot of gold.

Though the gold was not
of material gain,
it was a much more valuable
thing to attain.

For, it was the gold that's sent
from Heaven's great King;
an abundance of love,
life's most precious thing.

So, I graciously claimed it
and returned to my physical form.
I found inner peace
and love's been reborn.

So, I thanked the Lord
for what I had found,
and you were there
when I turned around.

Did someone say "beautiful"?

I agree.  Great poem, Sasikat.

This is very ...fabulous?  splendid?  and yes, beautiful too!!

MAY THE ROAD RISE TO MEET YOU,
MAY THE WIND BE ALWAYS AT YOUR BACK
MAY THE SUN SHINE UPON YOUR FACE
THE RAINS FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS
AND, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN,
MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND
