In pondering our days of yore
Life’s truths we’ve met at every door.
Each lesson more profound than last
Our souls the sum of all days past.

Thence wisdom may we recognize
To view the world through clearer eyes,
And hope that e’er each ‘morrow brings
Us vanquished plight on splendent wings.

(An Oldie)

a golden oldie...but a beautiful thought...
I love this expression of inner peace and contentment..we grow from our lessons learned
and the lovely picture is an added treat...I gotta learn how to do that...(smile)

Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme,
They are not measured by the commitment of time.
Some emotions run too deep to be described by words,
Forgiveness and understanding-
remain the most beautiful words ever heard.

Nice poem, Nan. I wasn't around back then, so i don't know who this Wolfie is, but he should be very pleased. It's nice that you thought so much of someone and their poem, to revive it.

It may be an oldie Nan, but timeless in its beauty

Well, the book of Proverbs in the Bible is a collection of oldies--some even five thousand years old (but I think the tuna in the back of my refrigerator is older than that)...

Like Proverbs, this poem will carry through the ages--no matter what the 'modern day' is.
