....where I came from.

Snow, endless snow, blowing
across roads and fields.

It was cold
In the hearts
Of those people, too.

Walls of ice
With nothing to cling to.

There was nowhere to go
But no reason to stay.

That was long ago.

Now, the sun shines
Where I am,
And reflects on the warm smiles
Of those around me.

I can never go back
To that cold place called "home".
I would not be received.

But why
would I want to leave?
