Have you ever tried strolling through
Some snow that's up to your head?
And when the wind is blowing, too
Don't you wish you were in bed?
Well, that is how I felt today
When I went out to take the bus
I nearly lost my wings that way
Walking home I made a fuss--
"It's too cold!" I cried out
But through snow no one could hear;
My tail was freezing! I was about
To just run wild with fear...

when someone came, great warmth he set
Deep into my heart
I didn't know him--we'd never met
For this meeting was a start;
This young kid led me home
How he knew where to go, I didn't know
After that he set out to roam
The winter snow, I saw him go
And tend to the garden he kept
A garden of love, not made of plants
That night I dreamed, and as I slept
I felt the kid's warm, loving hands
On my heart...

and yet
One question did remain:
Did he know who I was? Did he know my name?
Did he know he had just met a dragon tame?
I guess I'll never know for sure
Unless he comes back from tending his garden
Or if I have a problem that needs a cure.

You will see him tending his garden.

I dedicate this poem to all the people that I've met here...you've done an unspeakably good job of tending this garden.
