Ok, I remember now I did post this in another forum, but it didn't really get much of a response.  If you liked "He Thinks" this might be a good pre-quel to that one. -wen

In the soft half-light of the early morn,
he was aware of a stirring beside him. His
eyelids cracked open as a shadow fell
across them, and he glimpsed the curve of
her side as she passed... her bare side... His
eyes opened wider, though still  heavy with
sleep.  She allowed the door to the bathroom
to drift open, giving him full view of the old,
cracked-porcelain tub with its lion-claw brass
feet.  She rested her body on the small stool
next to it, her back to him, her half-moon profile
suspended over her peach-skin shoulder. The
pale light that filtered through the colored curtains
made stained-glass shapes that danced across
her face.  She unbound her milk chocolate hair,
rippling down to swish at her hip.   She was
leaning toward the window in just such a way
that her body was in perfect line with the beam
of light, forming a slide for the dust motes that
trickled down.
The soft rushing noise of the water lulled him into
a daydream, his vision turning shimmery and
crystalline. She rose from the stool, strobing in
halos, her hair falling away to allow the light, now
turning golden with the climbing sun, to illuminate
her brassy thigh.  She turned to look over her shoulder
at him, her face enveloped in that elfin mask of hers
which nearly drove him mad...  for she always seemed
to veil something behind her snowy skin and emerald
eyes.  Her willowy form arced around as if to come to
him, and he felt giddy, almost drunk on anticipation.
Then, she closed the door, the latch falling with a soft, final,
click.

So, I did post it here before? I should write all this down, or I'll forget.  I'm horrible about that... I'm always forgetting what I tell people so I end up telling one person twice and another not at all... *sigh*   In any case, I probably shouldn't post in so many forums so I can keep better track of things.   -wen

Whoa! Talk about imagery! Hey there are teenagers reading this stuff, you know, and you wouldn't want them to get any...ideas, would you?   I'm just kidding! Great imagery, though...really, I'm serious.
And I don't see why it didn't get too many responses--it's a great piece of work!

Now, if only some more people would reply to "Faith in Dreams"...I'm really proud of that, it's one of my first poems lol

This is a wonderful piece and the imagery is excellent!
Really enjoyed the read.....

This is beautiful...   I like the ending...

MAY THE ROAD RISE TO MEET YOU,
MAY THE WIND BE ALWAYS AT YOUR BACK
MAY THE SUN SHINE UPON YOUR FACE
THE RAINS FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS
AND, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN,
MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND

Irish Blessing
