The billowing curtains
On the third floor
Blow back from the window
Into the shadowy room
Wind comming through
On gusts and a bit of a whim
Ruffling the crisp new pillow case
Puffed on the four poster bed
Sunshine pouring through
Along with the strong breeze
Making itself at home
Warming the cherry wood floor
Scuffed from the scraping of an old rocker
Placed by the window by the bed
With a woman of age grown old
That once sat, eyes focused so hard, into the future
That seemed to her, to live in the sky outside the window
Now the woman is gone
Now an empty spot by the open pane
Now the chair rocks on its own.
Billowing curtains blow in
Accompianed by the sun
The shadows reflect what has been

Joy, this is so beautiful! I could see it just as clearly as if I were there! Well done!

I too could see this, as I wrote it.  It was like I was sitting by that window in that room and I could look outside into the tree branches and sunshine.  Imagination has to be there for me to write poetry like this!
I just enjoyed writing this becuase of the pure imagery of it!

Great poem, Joy! Reminds me of my grandma--she's gone now...but I do remember her in that rocker, and just watching everything through the window...

She is the one that gave me my PlayStation and one game--which got me spinning on the whole Little_Spyro thing lol

Again, great poem Joy!

The imagary in this is so lovely and a loving feeling sure shines through as well.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Great imagery... Makes my mind wander back to when my Grandmother was alive...

MAY THE ROAD RISE TO MEET YOU,
MAY THE WIND BE ALWAYS AT YOUR BACK
MAY THE SUN SHINE UPON YOUR FACE
THE RAINS FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS
AND, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN,
MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND
