My lips are moving, and the words
Come tumbling forth from my mouth
And you smile and nod your head
Sometimes interjecting small-talk, but
You don't hear me.
You don't understand the language that I speak
And I do not have enough command
Of sign to make you understand.
If, with one gesture, I could
Reveal all the ideas I'm trying to express to you,
I would
And then our souls would breathe and touch,
Knowing each other.
As it is, 'the voice of life in me
Cannot reach the ear of life in you,
But let us talk, that we may not be lonely.'

Soul to soul is always better than voice to ear, sounds like you have that! Wonderful poem Wendy!

If we'd really could "hear" soul to soul, what beautiful music we would hear. Wonderful poem Wendy. : )

What a excellent piece...very touching..

MAY THE ROAD RISE TO MEET YOU,
MAY THE WIND BE ALWAYS AT YOUR BACK
MAY THE SUN SHINE UPON YOUR FACE
THE RAINS FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS
AND, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN,
MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND

Ahhh...*sigh* i know all to well what it's like to speak an entirely differnt language from someone else. Unfortunately i'm one of those who's language is rare,i've found very few who speak it also.
