Two old hags drink ale and reminisce
in a pub called the Duck and Crown
they live in the same run down house
one lives up and one lives down.

They spend their mornings sitting on the steps
yelling at strangers that pass their way
By three, so drunk they roar and snort
not caring what anyone might say.

They had been such very close friends
born on the same street, the same year
went to school each day together
felt the same joy, felt  the same fear.

They fell in love with the same man
and fought for him like enemies sworn
their friendship, once so firmly held
became vicious and badly torn.

They took up their cause so fiercely
and battled to win the war
until one day they realized
their lover wasn’t there anymore.

They drove him away with hostile words
and each felt shame in almost the same way
So together in hate, they lived their lives
blaming the other for living this way.

I guess you could say the deserve each other!
Very sad, though, isn't it? Well done, Sharon! I enjoyed this very much!  A valuable lesson lies within!

Thought I'd stop by for a pint... and a fine ale you brew Ms. DeVine! There's something to be said about fighting so hard and long you forget what you're fighting about... I'm sure Toe would have something to say about whom they were fighting over... Me? I'll just say I spent my love one at a time and the best one is still cashing in.  Well, enough of my yarn spinning... time for me to mosey on. Once again, thanks for the refreshments and here's to you.

Well done again... I only hope someday to bring images to life like you do..

MAY THE ROAD RISE TO MEET YOU,
MAY THE WIND BE ALWAYS AT YOUR BACK
MAY THE SUN SHINE UPON YOUR FACE
THE RAINS FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS
AND, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN,
MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND

hehe, this sounds like a poetic fable almost.  Only with a playful meter, i like this a lot.
