If nothing else at least we had a good time
But all things change as time moves along
Now I know you love one more than me, dear
You freed me and to myself I belong

If nothing else at least we know we had fun
But laughter turns to sorrow as time rolls on
Our secret place now stands alone and empty
And I still wish I was the only one

If only we could heal this rift between us
Nothing would we have but joy and fun
But in your eyes I see that we are drifting
And I still wish I was the only one

Watching modem lights a-blinking
Churning out poetic hash.
Lord, in all Your piety,
Help me keep my sanity:
Please don't let the modem crash! --Alicat

This is a sad one, Ali. Very touching. If nothing else, perhaps some memories to cherish.

I like to think that in a relationship there is a bigger whole then the two people, but that the two excist still seperate and alone.  My stubborn independance talking there!

Once the memories get past the hurting stage they will bring you much joy and keep the person with you always.  Another good, albeit sad, poem from our dear Alicat.

So very sad, yet beautiful.  Your work is great.  I hope your sadness turns to joy soon.

Sasikat put it so well--"sad, but beautiful." Great poem, Alicat!
