On a Christmas t’was deep in the night
All the reindeer had started to fight
Santa got so upset
He jumped nude out of bed
And gave THEM all a terrible fright !

It seems I am in one of those ruts
And it feels like a kick in the guts
I can not find a rhyme
It takes all of my time
These darn lim’ricks are driving me nuts !

I cried out to Saint Patrick last night
I can not get this darn meter right
He looked at me a while
Said to me with a smile
"It was you who requested this blight"

Just five lines that will rhyme you request
In some meter you call anapest
To write lim’ricks takes much
Even more when you’re Dutch
But of course this will NOT get me stressed ! ; )

Munda

LOL you should see what Nan's kids created in the Workshop! They make it seem so easy !

Munda, your sillyness is delightful, as is this poem you created with it. I think you did a great job, I think you should practice this form it blends well with your humor.

Someone's been resurrecting a lot of oldie's,
but I'm glad I found this one. This is an interesting subject; one that I need to investigate.

Wonderful job, Munda.

Munda,

I really enjoyed the humor here.  It is a joy to be able to laugh or smile.

LOL!
Where do you get these, Munda? Well, I'm guessing it's from that delightfully Dutch dreamin' mind of yours! Am I right?

Keep on posting stuff like this and you'll have me in the hospital yet suffering from chronic humoritis!

P.S. Hope the doctors have had previous experience with dragons...I'd hate to think that I'm the first one they've worked with!   lol

For your kind words I thank all of thee
Limericks are my true cup of tea
I just got out of bed
Didn't wake up as yet
Still asleep is my insanity

Thanks for bringing this back to the world LD. I completely forgot this form of rhyme.
I see lots of new names here. High time I return to the Pub for a drink and read !
Thank you all for your replies. They're most appreciated.
