Suppose it were your birthday
A special holiday
And you wondered how your friends
Would help you celebrate this day

You know that they've been busy
Rushing to the mall
They don't have time to talk to you
Whenever you try to call

What wonderful surprise
Are they planning for your day
What special gifts have they picked out
Whatever will you say?

Imagine your surprise
When your day is finally here
To find they had forgotten you
It was Santa that they cheered!

So it must be for Jesus
On HIS special day
We're so busy chasing Santa
We have no time to pray

Let's give Jesus back his birthday
Offer prayers and sing a hymn
Remember the True meaning of Christmas
This day belongs to him!

Bea~
What a beautiful reminder that it IS the day of HIS birth~

My grandie girlies and I have a special moment planned to celebrate His birth-of-day~

Out of all the Christmas decorations in their home, the favorite 'play' place is at the Crèche that their grandfather made for them~

AT the ages of 4 3/4 for Delaney (she wants to make SURE I put that 3/4 in) and the 2 3/4 for little Landry, to see these little ones put aside the Barbie dolls and such and tell the story of Jesus' birth ... is such a blessing to me~

Thank you for the share of this~

Merry Christmas to you and yours~

Thank you so much for stopping by Marge...I just love your posts...so original and inspiring.

At the age of 79 (next month ) I have seen the deterioration of the birth of Christ reduced to shopping malls bursting at the seams on Sundays, forbidding religious displays in public places, outlawed prayer in schools, and the outlandish practice of "Happy Holiday" instead of Merry Christmas!  Even midnight mass in most places now starts at 9:00 or 10:00 pm because people are afraid to venture out at night.

Methinks I have lived too long!!!!

May God bless you and your family on the blessed, holy seasonL

Thanks 'raiders'

It's as if there was a gigantic birthday party to celebrate your day...but you weren't invited!

Thanks Joyce...I think we all need prodding from time to time to remind ourselves what the day is REALLY about!
