The Wreath

Some greenery with a big red bow,
Your only gift this year.
I fasten it to the hard ground
And brush a wayward tear.

I can't but think of other times
When there was Christmas joy
As I carefully selected
Some toys for my boy.

And then as you grew older, Son,
You were so very tall.
I bought your shirts with longer sleeves,
But you outgrew them all.

No shop in town for Big and Tall,
I had to send away
To have a perfect fit for you
To open Christmas Day.

But you were not the sort of lad
To ask for lots of stuff.
Laying your wreath, I hear you say,
"Don't cry, Mom.It's enough."

That's so sad, Joyce--your son will always love and remember you wherever he is. A beautiful Christmas tribute.

Dear Joyce,
My eyes cannot read the words I type, for they are bathed in your tears.
How beautiful and touching is this poem that overflows with love.
Seems there is more than one gift this year.
Much love
Liz

Oh Joyce, you have brought tears to my eyes.
I'm so surprised you even remember how long it's been since my brothers passing.

You just can't help to think of them during the holidays. I just look into the skies and wonder what he must be doing up there.

Your poem is tender, beautiful and touches my heart Joyce.  God's blessing to you! Have hope we shall see them again.

Thank you, Joyce, for remembering our loss, too, as you share this beautifully written piece. My lean 6'4" son always got an extra- tall size white sweater with his gifts, too. He loved them.  Now each white sweater ad, reminds me.
God willing, one day, we'll celebrate again with our sons.

May God richly bless you throughout the new year!

-ing, because not all Holiday's are filled with memories that make us laugh~

In these tender times of remember, Joyce, I will think of you ... and will also think of our WhtDovie One ... who now is with her brother and also will hold MamaRae in tender prayer vigil as she remembers the loss of them both~

Joyce ... you are loved~
