There was an old fellow
with a beard on his chin,
had violet-blue eyes
and a sparkling white grin.

A jolly old man.
A figure in red.
What was his name?
Well, it sure wasn't Fred!

Out in the night
he packed a big sleigh
and loaded a program
that whisked it away.

As time marches on,
there's always a change-
traditions will differ
and poets get strange.
