Once Upon a Silent Night

Once Upon a silent night
There came a great and wondrous light
That changed the faith of man on earth
And shown upon a Child’s birth

Once upon a midnight star
That brightly lit the fields afar
A light revealed His love to me
And now shines down from on my tree

Once upon a Christmas Eve
The beauteous story we believe
Unveiled the gift that was bestowed
To all mankind so long ago

Once around a table’s rim
A silent night in candle’s dim
Turned into laughter of the night
As children waited new delights

Once around a Christmas tree
A family gathered there with me
As shadows of the past survive
Within a child’s gleaming eyes

The past repeated once again
A glorious night that has no end
God’s love shown down in glowing light
Upon a silent Christmas night
