The Twelve Pounds of Christmas

The 12
pounds of Christmas
are part of this holiday.
My true love made a list that
I peeked at just today.
I know that she loves me with total bliss.
So, I’ll skip to the end for the entire list.
You’ll get the jest from the twelfth to the first.
There’s more poems to read than a long Christmas curse.
On the twelfth pound of Christmas, my true love gave to me
Twelve calorie counters, eleven buttered biscuits, ten quarts a-dressing,
nine gallons of egg-nog, eight cans of whip cream, seven honey - hams, six fudge brownies,
Fi----ve pump----kin pies.
Four sugar cookies, three chocolate bars, two fruity cakes,
And a fat,
roasted plump
turkey.

This was cute!!! And oh so true at this time of year. BTW love the way it looks like a Christmas Tree.

How can you save me?
When the dark comes right in and takes me,
from my front walk and into bed,
where it kisses my face and eats my head. Shivaree
