I stuffed the dressing,
I gobbled the turkey,
Don't talk to me about ham, boy!

I scarfed green jello salad
Like a third world child,
My diet is a shambles.

Then yesterday
I made a mistake,
And stepped on the bathroom scales.

I'm glad I don't live by the sea
Where people go hunting for whales.

Dear Olias,
Thank you.  Of course, it would be funnier if it was about someone else. sigh.

Dear Sunshine,
I know. I'll never get Thanksgiving worked off before the banana bread and fruitcake get me. Oh well.

Dear Juanita,
I like it here! I get depressed just thinking about the scales.

Dear Melton,
Hah! I never heard it called the 12 pounds of Christmas before, but it's accurate.

Terrific, Nan......I am glad to see that you are over here also!
What a great idea for a poem....now, it you will only type hard enough, you might burn up some of those calories.  I was looking for a fat lady icon to razz you with but the closest I could come was the buxum lady!
At least she is wearing her Thanksgiving dinner in the right place.
I am still wearing Thanksgiving around my hips...and luckily, I don't really celebrate Christmas...but Chanukah is just as bad with the potato latkas.
Anyway...it makes for a great poem...and I am so happy to see you here.

Dear Lyra,
Glad you liked it.  I refuse to believe that potato latkas can compare to banana bread, fruitcake, and what just came in the mail today? a huge tub of caramel popcorn(to which I am addicted).  Sigh.  I think the entire world should have my holidays so they can be humbled(and fattened) along with me. I'll send you some Texas Pecan Cake(if I can get Mom to make it).

Dear Brigitte,
Oh! Chocolate pie with loads of whipcream on top! Lovely. And my ex-sister-in-law sends hand-made Martha Washington candy along with divinity and fudge. Will it never cease? (Yes, and I'll be depressed then)

LOL this is really cute! Good job!
I live by the sea, so naturally I sea-food and eat it.
Sorry couldn't resist.

Welcome!  I like and sadly, relate to your cute poem.  However, I've found 2 ways to keep from getting depressed, don't get on the scale and close my eyes as I pass by mirrors.

Dear Rae,
Good thinking about the mirrors. I've ignored them so long, I never see myself unless I'm at a store trying on clothes. Have you noticed that stores have fun-house mirrors? They make me look fat and short.
