A Classic Trekker Christmas

A starship boldly going, as starships often do
encountered an anomaly, which perplexed its crew,
There, on long range sensors appeared a tiny blip,
maybe it's a meteorite or perhaps another ship,
The Vulcan science officer raised a single brow
"It's a type of energy not encountered until now",
The communications officer, reported "laughter sir",
The captain felt uneasy and sat upright in his chair,
"Shields up, give me phasers, someone tell me what this means,
helmsman drop to impulse, and put it on the screen",
There on the viewscreen a dot, unclear to see,
"Helmsman get me closer, give me magnification three",
"Fascinating Captain", the science officer said,
"A humanoid perched on a sleigh, pulled by quadrupeds",
"It's Santa Claus"; the captain could not believe his eyes,
"Or maybe its a Romulan, in a cunning disguise",
But as the object passed the ship and warped upon its way
Upon the bridge a rich and hearty voice was heard to say
"Ho ho ho, I'm late I'm late, can't stop to talk to you,
I have to make deliveries, it's Klingon Christmas too! ".

Olias.
