His Name IS Jesus

Christmas cards delivered Postage stamp a Nativity scene
Sent with the true meaning of the love
Behind this manger scene

The USPS yet to my dismay
Postmarked the stamp Happy Who-liday
Happy Wholiday! What I declared!
What can this mean?

Is this sarcasm I wonder out loud
Because of the uncertainly of a presidential outcome
No, this was unforseen
This postmark had been planned
For many months passed

So I sat down at my computer
And logged onto the Internet
And typed in Who-liday
To see what I could find
Only to discover that the USPS
In a small way
Was in partnership with Universal Studios

The Grinch That Stole Christmas
Was the name of the movie
That obviously was being promoted
A movie I had heard that
Didn't get good reviews
And now one of it's lines
Was being sent everywhere
Much to my chagrin

A Holy Day
Turned holiday
A day meant to honor and give thanks
To the Father for giving to us
His only Son
To be the atonement for our sins

I felt a tear fall from the Father's face
Another one fall from Mary's too
Angel's hung their head in sorrow
Just because
Their announcement was so important
They thought no one would err forget
That "Jesus is His Name"
He is the reason for the season
He is why we celebrate
There should be no wondering why or who
or what Christmas is all about
Without Jesus...
Christmas is anything but Christmas.

May you have a Blessed Christmas
Postmarked PEACE

Don't let the Grinch
Steal your Christmas!

Jesus is the original reason for christmas and it's good to be reminded.....all this santa stuff can distract the true meaning of it all.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I hate your socks. I'd like to burn them!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Sure enough I went to the Post Office and there it was a Christmas
Who-liday. How dare they make this into a Disney holiday. It is and will always be a Holy Day!

SongBird~
Thank you for addressing this.
I have also written of my displeasure at the
Happy "Who-liday" cancellation stamp to the USPS.

Well done, poet.

Songbird,
Thank you for your research. Yes, I agree that without Jesus, Christmas would not be Christmas.
On another note: Please encourage everyone you know to take the time to spell CHRISTMAS. Too many people want to hurry too much and shorten this wonderful time of year to XMAS. Without CHRIST, Christmas would not be CHRISTmas.

Yes, Christ is the reason for the season and without Jesus there would be as they say noel. We should never be in such a hurry and scurry that we leave Christ out of Christmas. I wish you all a blessed Christmas even without the benifit of material things we can share the love of Jesus and that is what is most important. God bless you all!
