Tend your Hearts
~~~
T'was  gentle  calm  around  us  then
a  feeling  in  the  air
A  soothing  breeze  disturbed  the  cold
its'  breath
replaced  despair
The  stars  had  faded  much  too  soon
mid - night
we  wondered  why
Then  a  brighter  glow  than  a  million  stars
lit  up  the  eastern  sky
Our  path  seen  clear . . . in  all  our  years
we  never  felt  this  way
We  left  our  flocks  beneath  its'  light
to  tend  our  hearts  that  day
~
Three  men  we  saw
in  finest  garb
with  gifts  to  bless  a  king
Bestowed  upon  a  man  and  wife
in  a  stable  for  lesser  things
We  could  not  hear  just  what  they  said
we  thought  our  place  forlorn
They  called  to  us
and  said  "come  forth"
"This  night  a  child  is  born"
~~~

That was really lovely. I like the way you did it, from the point of view of the shepherds. Good work, Rex!

Rex...as always your words move me. This was an earthquake. It is so beautiful. Thank you for putting all things in perspective. Shawna

Thankyou Tracie and Denise ... I'm afraid this may be one of the saddest Christmas' Seasons I've ever had. My mom is hospitalized with cancer ( bone lung and liver ) and my dad has another aneurism ( the last took two years to heal after surgery ).
They will be in different hospitals ... we don't really know yet what we are in for over the Christmas season, but we will do our best for the kids.

I have not felt much like writing lately, but perhaps I will again sometime in the new year.

I'm running this to the top once more with a note of thanks to all at Passions, for your love and kindness ... we thankyou for your prayers and support through our time of need.
My father seems to be on the mend and will be able to join us at Christmas ... to this I thank the Lord.
My Poems to my mom were read today at graveside, as we laid her to rest. She is at peace now and we will be able to face the season knowing that she is in the presence of Christ.
Merry Christmas to all and God's Blessings be upon us all in the new year.

Rex, your mother is at rest, and your father will be at peace in the comfort of your home.  You shall remain in my prayers...Karilea

Your post was a real blessing.  Thank you.  I'm sorry for the trials you are experiencing, the loss of your Mom and your Dad's medical problems.  May peace be with each of you.  God bless.  Rae
