Cards to send - parties, attend
Songs to sing - lights to string
Cookies to bake - donations to make
Frequent malls - deck the halls
Shop for gifts - find boots and mitts

Snow's delightful - traffic's frightful

Gift wrapping - windshield scraping
Shoveling snow - brrrr it's cold
Sniffles and chill - peace and good will
Rushing and waiting - then celebrating
New Years Eve - we're so relieved!

Yeah, that would be December in a nutshell, Sandgrain.

Nail to the mast her holy flag,
Set every threadbare sail-
And give her to the god of storms,
The lightning and the gale!

Thank you each for replying.  There are some advantages to being old, you can sit and write about the hustle rather than being in the midst of it.

Aye, Sandgrain,
The best advantage of being old is that wonderful store of experience and wisdom that you are able to draw on.  Those delightful experiences of life that create the poems in us that are just 'waiting to exhale'.

Merry Christmas
