Carolina Christmas

It’s that time of year again,
Break out the Christmas lights.
Cool crisp air, twinkle of stars,
Tranquil December nights.

Pristine beauty of the Carolinas
Cloaked in winter mist,
Frozen noses of little children
Warmed by mommy’s kiss.

Anonymous angels giving their time
To help those who have less.
Santa’s little helpers spreading cheer.
Volunteers at their best.

I want to share my Carolina Christmas
Show you the beauty all around.
When strangers reach out to one another,
Love for man abounds.

We smile and nod and greet with hugs,
Warm embraces of a friend.
But here in the Carolinas,
The Christmas Spirit doesn’t end.

It matters not how strait the gate;
How charged with punishments the scroll;
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I agree with Roses Throns, I would like to vist, sounds so much nicer than a Southern California Christmas, where you can go swimming in the morning if you so wanted to. Great poem!

This was great.......i'll go there only if you DON'T have snow.

Elizabeth, hate to disappoint you, but we rarely get snow where I'm at.

Dopey_Dope, I guess that makes it your ideal Christmas spot.
