Each Leaf That Falls

Each leaf that falls is like a soul
Who's somehow strayed away.
It drifts awhile before it lands
Upon the ground to stay.
Appears it's lost it's place in life,
But that's not really true,
For there is re-birth every spring
And life begins anew.

It seems symbolic of the path
Some people wander on.
They feel their chances to return
Have slipped away;are gone.
But there is always hope that we
Can find our way back to
The One who waits so patiently,
With love, to guide us through
And how His heart must celebrate,
At every one who turned,
Returning to the path of life,
With all their bridges burned!

Betty, on a personal level, this really hit home and I will use it as my prayer throughout the day.

Thank you so much.  Hugs, Marti

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Betty, this is so wonderfully said, sweet friend, spring always follows winter as every child will be hugged by Him and love will always find a way to each of their precious hearts! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is wonderful, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Betty, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I loved this beautiful poem but these lines held a special meaning to me personally,
"And how His heart must celebrate,
At every one who turned,
Returning to the path of life,
With all their bridges burned!"
I loved how you used the leaf metaphorically - well done indeed.

Trillium,

So nice to read your poetry again. A very inspirational piece that encourages our reconciliation with our God who loves each one of us so very very much though like the leaves we are so very distinct in our design and nature. God bless you my poet friend and I like the flow/meter and the 8/6 format of this poem.  Good job.  -Bob
