Gold and Silver Strands

My life is like a patterned quilt
I've made with loving hands.
The islands of events are tied
With gold and silver strands.
The gold is for the happy times.
The silver for the sad
And there's an ample share of each.
A mix of good and bad.

The background has a rosy hue,
For optimism felt,
Through all the vagaries of life,
No matter what was dealt.
The batting, is my inner faith,
That God will light my way
And give me time to stitch and sew,
To add more every day!

(big hugggssssss) Yay! Oh Betty, yes, keep weaving away and may the gold in your quilt outshine the silver with angel hugs and friendship light! (kiss on cheek) This is a beautiful tapestry of words, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Betty, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Oh my Betty Lou ~ What a beautiful weave you have done here, I do believe it is one of the most lovely reminders I've ever read.  I'd like to keep it on my fridge so I can read it everyday and be thankful for all of the "Gold and Silver Strands" ... May I?  Bonnie

I really liked this poem, especially using the batting as a metaphor for your faith.  Very original!

Betty; Your magical gift of poetry and the analogy you use here, weave a glorious picture of faith and hope and much wisdom! Hugs, Ellie

Betty, this is a wonderful piece! Its flow is impeccable with not a forced rhyme in the lot of it. It's beautiful, too! A heartbeat of rhythm in tune with the Spirit.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
