Heaven’s Gate
By: Paul Wilson

To all I bid my farewell
To each I wish you well

Another journey does await
Soon I will walk through Heavens Gate

To meet my Lord and his Son
Into their open arms I will run

This journey of life over for me
Or has it just begun, we will see

So many loved one’s left behind
On this journey, what will I find?

Greeted by those that came before me
So many loved one’s I long to see

Weep not for my soul
For I have reached my goal

Here I will be waiting for you
When your life on earth is through

This is just a note of what to expect,
yes?  Not a goodbye...we're not ready
for that, Paul...

Dear Paul,  I hope this is a poem of what it will be like some day.  I have not read one of your pieces before but this is heart rending.  Joyce

Hi Paul :-)
Yes, Heavens Gate begins a beautiful new journey for us who are in Christ, and a spiritul journey for all eternity,  in the sense of beautiful blessings without tears, sorrow or pain. Our body is just our physical housing on loan, and God promises us peace and joy unlike none we have never know before! Your love-ones will know that joy too one day! God bless you and thank you for sharing this beatiful poem with us. Annette

Sunshine...
Joyce...
Annette...

Thank all of you for your kind replies.
I'm not leaving yet hopefully. This was the first poem on this subject I have ever written, even though I try to include some reference to God in all of my poems, because I know the words are a gift from him.
Again Thank & Bless all of you... Paul

This reminded me of one of my favorite gospel oldies titled, "To My Mansion in the Sky" by Jimmy Davis. I remember listening to it as a kid and and adult when I borrowed from my dad...then Ricky Shelton did it on one of his albums...I love it!

You know, most people don't even know who Jimmy Davis was...yeah, they called him "the singing Governor". It must have been a great blessing for your granddad to have met him, I can still hear him singing those old songs to this day in my heart. Especially, "Why Didn't You Tell Me". It became a very meaningful song to me when I was a newborn. Thanks for remembering!   God Bless!
