A Fulfilled Day

I've cut down thistles,
wrought a poem.
Why does this seem
an empty day?
What is it that
I didn't do?
Is it that I
forgot to pray?

I turn my thoughts
straightway to Him.
My heart is lighter
as I think.
The words that come
from my full heart,
are better far
than those in ink.
