Good Things

Life disappoints, it often seems.
It's only perfect in our dreams
And bad things sometimes come our way,
But good things happen every day.
The friends we cherish, always there,
Our life events, with us to share.
They surely are a gift from He
Who watches over, constantly!
Our families, the joys that lie
Within each year as it goes by,
That far outweigh the times of strife,
Are treasures God puts in our life.
All good things come from Him, you know.
He guides us through each time of woe.
He gives us strength, so we should say
Prayers of thanks, to Him each day!

Upbeat and uplifting verse.  When we take the time to think about it and compare... ...You know make the two columns.  (One column for the bad things and the other column for the good things that we have in our lives since we've come to the Lord.) I think most of us, if not all of us,  can agree that the blessings of our Lord certainly more than enough out weigh the trials in life.  Good poem.  -Bob

I agree....I'm so thankful for what God has given me.

quote:
The friends we cherish, always there,
Our life events, with us to share.

These lines meant a lot to read, because I was just thinking the other night that without my friends I wouldn't have survived this summer....that's absolutely serious....I don't know what I would have done without them. Thank you Betty for this message and reminder.

Skyshine:  I appreciate your comments.  I too, have had an experience, where I had to rely so heavily on my friends and found what treasures they are.

BettyLou~
You write so beautifully truthful~

I have often had reason to recall Rev. Kushner's book ... 'When Bad Things Happen To Good People'... your poem reminded me of some of his thoughts in that endearing book~

Thank you sweet lady for sharing YOU with me~

Marge:  I did read Rev Kushner's book some time ago, but the lessons linger on.

Thank you for your your wonderfully caring remarks.
